Friday Holiday Cocktails - Gingerbread White Russian

Posted by Caron on Dec 14, 2018

Our Friday Cocktail Recipe for a pre-holiday treat, we recommend trying one of these Gingerbread White Russians. Truly, this is a holiday dessert drink that is full of all kinds of yumminess. Tom and I absolutely loved these Gingerbread Christmas inspired cocktails! The rich molasses absolutely makes them the BEST. Perfect for snuggling beside the Christmas Tree, but not for those watching their diet... lol

Ingredients for Two Large Drinks

  • 4 ounces milk (we used 2%, but could use whole milk if you like)
  • 4 ounces Vodka
  • 4 ounces Kahlua
  • 3 teaspoons molasses
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger
  • cinnamon and cane sugar mixture for rimming glasses
  • whipped cream for topping
  • molasses drizzle for topping

Directions:

  1. Combine cane sugar and cinnamon in a small shallow plate. Wet rims/edges of two Double Old Fashioned glasses and dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
  2. In an ice-filled cocktail shaker, combine milk, vodka, Kahlua. Then give it a good shake!
  3. Add the molasses and ginger, shake until cold.
  4. Strain into your sugar-rimmed ice filled dof glasses
  5. Top with whipped cream and molasses

Note: A secret that we have experimented with and have learned when rimming glasses with sugar; use Cane Sugar, or Turbinado Sugar for larger "chunkiness". It gives your glass a much nicer look and it stays on the glass edge/rim better.

Cheers! Grab your favorite coastal glassware and mix one up.

P.S. We used our Cast of Crab DOF Glasses, kind of hard to see the Crabs, but they were the perfect size!

The Dolphins would be fun too!
