Caron's Causes
Supporting our Future:
Caron’s Beach House has made a commitment to support various charitable organizations through your generous purchase of our products. This is a very significant part of our mission statement as a company; giving back to our communities, protecting our environment and supporting important humanitarian efforts for education, health care and well being. We are inviting our customers to join us. To further those efforts, Caron’s will be featuring a variety of beach house style décor products in which a potion of the proceeds will be donated to support our favorite organizations.
Here’s our short list so far:
| Charity: American Red Cross ( www.redcross.org ) |
 The American Red Cross is where people mobilize to help their neighbors—across the street, across the country, and across the world—in emergencies. Each year, in communities large and small, victims of some 70,000 disasters turn to neighbors familiar and new—the more than half a million volunteers and 35,000 employees of the Red Cross. Through over 700 locally supported chapters, more than 15 million people gain the skills they need to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their homes, communities and world. An average of 92 cents of every dollar the Red Cross spends is invested in humanitarian services and programs. |

| Charity: Habitat for Humanity ( www.habitat.org ) |
 Habitat affiliates work locally in communities around the world to select and support> homeowners, organize volunteers and coordinate house building. Homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, their ability to repay a mortgage and their willingness to work in partnership with Habitat.
Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built over 300,000 houses, providing shelter for more than 1.5 million people in over 90 countries around the world. A new Habitat house is completed somewhere in the world every 21 minutes. |

| Charity: The Marine Mammal Center ( www.marinemammalcenter.org ) |
 The Marine Mammal Center recognizes human interdependence with marine mammals and their importance as sentinels of the ocean environment, the health of which is essential for all life. It is our responsibility to use our awareness, compassion and intelligence to foster marine mammal survival and the conservation of their habitat.
Working together toward the future, dreams can come true! With our members' help we've built an organization that has a singular purpose: to save marine mammals and their environment before it's too late. |

| Charity: Ocean Conservancy ( www.oceanconservancy.org ) |
 At Ocean Conservancy, we believe it's time to look beneath the surface to see where the health of our planet really begins. It’s time to recognize the source that sustains us day to day with the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe...to discover that all living things are connected to the ocean. It’s time to understand that going green starts with living blue. It’s time to start a sea change. Providing food, fresh water and oxygen to the world, the ocean is essential to all life on Earth, but it is in serious trouble from overuse and pollution. Ocean Conservancy believes it’s time to change our national policies to protect entire ecosystems as the surest way to solve the most critical ocean conservation challenges we face. |

| Charity: Ocean Champions ( www.oceanchampions.org ) |
 Ocean Champions is the only political voice for ocean health. We take a non-partisan approach in working with the U.S. Congress to ensure ocean health through electoral and legislative action. The philosophy of Ocean Champions is that ocean users, in concert with traditional ocean conservation organizations, are the key to saving the oceans. We believe that fishermen, divers, surfers, sailors, kayakers, boaters, beachgoers, environmentalists and others who have a direct and passionate connection to the oceans make up a huge constituency that has the power to persuade Congress and state legislatures to take action to protect our oceans |
Because living on the coast is our passion, we believe in thoroughly researching our products, striving to find sustainable home décor items, and to also work with manufacturers that also share our vision whenever possible. We also support beach cottage industry artists, and their artistry in our “Beach Finds” collection (check here often for new items!)
As part of the commitment to support our earth’s future and oceans’ health, Caron’s Beach House will also recycle, re-purpose, and re-use as much of our packaging material as we can (bubble-wrap, peanuts, cardboard) – don’t be surprised to find that your shipments might not be packed in a brand new box!
